In a study done by the National Center for Biotechnological Information about the effect of Aloe Vera on prevention and healing of skin wounds. During which 23 trials were conducted of this medicinal plant that has been used since 1500 BC. The study included comparing Aloe Vera along side Sulfadiazine 1% ointment. The results showed that Aloe Vera was more effective in several forms of treatment such as topical applications as well as reducing healing times of first- and second-degree burns.
